MAMA TREE - Ojai

Mama Tree Ojai is a pilot project meant to help influence the implementation of Hempcrete - an alternative building material - into legislation such as CBC/CRC for a more widespread application throughout the AEC industry.

Tenant Improvement Project Commissioned in Ojai, CA. Program includes a kitchen, root cellar, bathroom, and cottage addition with a focus on Regenerative design. Using proposed 12" Hempcrete walls provides R-40 insulation, Minimum 4-Hr fire resistance, Minimum STC 62 rated sound transmission class, and a permeable building enclosure that allows passive air circulation in and out of the space. Hempcrete is a 100% organic building material with a net positive carbon footprint.
